Welcome to Belmont City College

Belmont City College is an inclusive, respectful and productive educational environment where students achieve success in their academic, social and community endeavours.

As one of Western Australia’s renowned Independent Public Schools, we have high expectations of our students and staff, who embrace our ethos Рto demonstrate pride in themselves, their school and their community. Our vibrant college community provides access to a diverse range of programs that support students to develop academic, social and life skills essential to navigating a pathway to further training and employment.

A responsive and flexible curriculum delivery model implemented from Years 7 to 12 ensures the needs of each individual are adequately met, including the provision of exclusive specialist programs and innovative learning activities. Belmont City College offers programs ranging from our highly successful Department of Education Approved Specialist Programs in Contemporary Drama to our Music Excellence program and the selective A Plus Academic Extension Program in partnership with the University of Western Australia. Humanities classes for second language learners, the Follow the Dream program for Aboriginal students aspiring to attend university and opportunities for students to participate in a variety of sporting activities at both school and inter-school level.

Our Deaf Education program ensures that students with hearing loss have access to quality curriculum as well as the language support they require to succeed in secondary school. Our campus also has an Inclusive Education Centre where students with identified learning difficulties are able to access individualised curriculum in order to develop their skills and knowledge.

Our priority areas of ensuring that our students are successful, that our staff excel in their work and that we are the school of choice for our community are reflected in the many innovative programs on offer. In addition to the variety of curriculum based programs students can access to ensure they achieve academic success at the College, our teaching staff run a number of programs in our network primary schools, allowing student access to elements of specialist programs at a younger age. Our merit selected staff are provided opportunities to continue to develop their skills and knowledge as educators as well as promoting continuous investigation and application of best practice models in education.

Through links with local business, Memoranda of Understanding with the University of WA and the City of Belmont we further enhance the opportunities for College students allowing every student to ‘Do Better at Belmont.’
