TITRATION SENSATION!

Last term, BCC entered 3 teams into the RACI Titration Competition – WA Branch.
The aim was to determine, by chemical analysis, the precise amount of a known substance (KHP) contained within a sample. Scoring is based on the difference between the calculated result and the correct result.
BCC Team 1 was ranked 3rd in the state (and was the top-ranked Public School).
BCC Team 2 was ranked 5th in the state.
BCC Team 3 was ranked 14th in the state.
Out of approximately 90 teams from 31 schools, 16 teams in WA were rated as ‘Excellent’, including all 3 teams from BCC. Individually, our students achieved 5 High Distinctions, 2 Distinctions and 2 Credits. Only 6 students in WA managed to achieve a perfect score – including 2 students from BCC.
The staff and students of Belmont City College would like to congratulate these intrepid titrators, for their many hours of dedication, hard-work and resilience in training for and competing in this competition, as well as for their remarkable results.
