This year’s NAIDOC theme, The Next Generation: Strength, Vision & Legacy, celebrates not only the achievements of the past but the bright future ahead, empowered by the strength of our young leaders, the vision of our communities, and the legacy of our ancestors. Our school celebrated NAIDOC week with an assembly fully organised and conducted by our Aboriginal Student Leadership group that included dances by girls and boys in our Stars and Clontarf programs. We were privileged to have Kylie Bracknell support our girls with their dance and be our guest speaker on the day. The event was well attended by families and special guests. Awards were presented students who have shown leadership in the school across Years 7 to 12. Tyrese Coyne in Year 12 was the worthy recipient of this year’s City of Belmont NAIDOC Award which was presented by Mayor Rossi.Image attachmentImage attachment+3Image attachment

🎭 Specialist Contemporary Drama – Term 2 Wrap-Up! 🎭
What a huge term it’s been for our Specialist Contemporary Drama students!
✨ Over 100 students from Year 8-12 went on an excursion to see Hoods by Barking Gecko – a powerful play exploring themes of childhood resilience, family, and the hidden struggles of Australian families.
✨ Our Year 8 Specialist students took part in a high-energy improvisation workshop run by an industry professional through Black Swan State Theatre Company, sponsored by Perth Airport.
✨ Meanwhile, two buzzing after-school Drama Hub classes ran every Monday, led by teaching artists from WA Youth Theatre Company (WAYTCO), giving students the chance to grow their skills in scripted work. Thank you to Miss Hafid for organising these workshops and excursions for our students.
✨ The highlight of the term for many of our Specialist contemporary Drama students was, of course, Drama camp! In Week 9, students from Years 9–12 Drama headed off on our most anticipated event of the year – a four-day camp packed with skill-building, production work, great food, and loads of fun.
Congratulations to all our Drama students for their enthusiasm, creativity and hard work this term!Image attachmentImage attachment+3Image attachment
